Are there any extra fees?You are responsible for your own domain registration fees. We will be glad to assist you in this process if you are not familiar on how to register your own domain. If we register a domain for you, we would ask for a payment equal to the cost of the domain registration. Usually domain registrations for .com domains range in price between $14 and $35 a year depending on the registration company used. All our hosting related prices are listed on the hosting page. We do not charge set-up fees. Beyond that there are no extra fees. You can't go wrong. Is there any support?Yes of course! Support and resources are available through your control panel and if you have a real problem that you can't solve, you can email us at support@galanda.com. We also have an off-site emergency support address which we will send you on registration in case of network problems. In the highly unlikely event of a failure of our site, you will still be able to reach us. Although we can supply you with some resources, we do not support all software that you may be using which would normally be supported by the software publisher. Most reputable hosting companies need to supply very little support other than on-line. If everything works the way we said it would, why would you need support? You are solely responsible for whatever is on your web site. If you want to put advertising on your pages, you are more than welcome to. The world will only see whatever you want them to see. You can be in control of your web presence faster than you think. What can I use this site for?Just about anything. Need a site to practice web design on? You've got it. Want to show the folks overseas how the kids are growing? They'll be kept up-to-date. Want to run a commercial application? Get in on the Internet revolution today. Got a product to sell? Everyone is searching and shopping on-line. Need 24 hour a day, 7 day a week promotion? This is the cheapest and easiest way to do it. Adult and Spam sites are not welcome. Absolutely no IRC's. You'll be required to read the terms and conditions anyway as part of the ordering process. Do you take credit cards?Yes! When you place your order you will be directed to our secure billing site supplied to us through PayPal. US residents may pay by e- cheque through the PayPal company. If you insist, we can also take cheques (certified) or bank drafts as well. Just send us an email and we'll let you know how to do it. If you over night courier to us, we can have you up and running pretty quickly. Snail mail takes a little longer. Stop thinking and start doing. Claim your space in cyberspace today! Price Freeze GuaranteesOur hosting price are locked. Basically once you sign up for a hosting account, the price you pay at that time is the price you will pay though out your stay on our server. As an example, if you order a hosting package for $10/month today and a few month down the road we are forced due to cost increases to raise our prices for the same hosting package to $15/month, you will still keep paying the $10/month for as long as you keep your account. New customers that sign up after the increase will instead be paying $15/month. Discounts For Multiple DomainsYes we offer discounts for multiple domains. Each domain has all of the same features as the single domains. Simply contact us for more details. Cost to Transfer DomainYou don't actually transfer your domain to us. You leave your domain registration in your name with the registrar where your domain name is registered. In order for us to host your domain, you need to change the nameserver (dns) information with your registrar. We are not aware of any registrar that charges you to do this, but check with yours. Changing the nameserver information tells the world where to find your site. You will need to upload your site to your new address. Make sure you have the current copy available for upload when your account is set up. What happens if I exceed my bandwidth (transfer) or storage?Extra storage is $10 per year per 10mb. Extra bandwidth is $6 per month per 1000mb. What we don't offer and why.Telnet/Shell access: This is a huge security and performance risk for any server that allows general access in this manner. Anyone with telnet or shell access could shut the server down deliberately or inadvertently. Large storage and data transfer amounts at seemingly inexpensive prices: We've seen them - 10 gig storage and 10 gig data transfer for $9.95 per month. These are just a come-on to get your your credit card number and business. We have many instances of people switching to our services because they have been shut down by their hosting suppliers for "using server resources." No provider can afford to support these plans at under $150US per month. The cost of servers, support, administration, sales, and connections just will not permit it in a properly run business. Check the fine print. Don't give your credit card information to companies you suspect are giving you something that appears too good to be true. It probably is! Unlimited bandwidth: Check the fine print. Can you imagine being on a server with a couple of kids running mp3 files on an unlimited basis, or a gaming site, or an adult site? Any one of those services on a server can consume the majority of available processor availability and bandwidth. Bandwidth is actually the amount of data that can be transferred over an internet connection measured in mbs (megabytes per second). There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth: just as you can only pump so much water through a half inch pipe, you can only pump so much data through an internet connection. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you need it. You probably don't and you probably don't want to be on a service that permits it. Unlimited MySQL databases: We've seen people running as many as 9 databases at a time and consuming over 30% of server resources in doing so. These are people who should probably be running their own server but instead, you get to be the little guy on a server with them. Unlimited email addresses: How many do you really need? If you want to run an electronic mail company, you need your own server. Unlimited Storage: Try storing 20 gigs of files on those machines and see how quickly you get hit with excessive server usage charges or shut-down by your hosting company with no refunds and no warning. Adult and Mail Spam sites: We're not interested in having you compromise server performance. Please find another hosting solution. Java servlets: May cause runaway hpptd and server crashes. We're more interested in having a stable environment than supporting untested bleeding edge technology. We don't over sell our servers. Many hosting providers sell several hundred accounts with large storage options and large data transfer options. They believe that you will never use the space and therefore can sell it to someone else. We don't do this. If you have paid for it, you are entitled to it and it will be there when you need it.
